A WEEK to forget for US-miner Freeport McMoran got worse over the past 24 hours with three contract workers killed by a landslide near its Grasberg mine. Hours later an Indonesian government report slammed the company over its environmental practices.
Freeport chairman James Moffett said the mud/topsoil slide came from a mountain area and occurred at 1am local time Thursday morning, slamming into a service facility for mine workers.
