Nine to face court over Indonesian mud disaster

INDONESIAN police have reportedly named nine people, all from the drilling team contracted by well operator Lapindo Brantas, who are accused of violating environmental management laws in the wake of the Banjar Panjir-1 mud disaster that has so far decimated several villages near the city of Surabaya on the island of Java.

According to the Jakarta Post, East Java police questioned 67 witnesses to the well control incident that occurred on May 29 before naming the nine, who are expected to be charged over the failure to
