World Bank to deliver $US900m to fight corruption in Indonesia

WORLD Bank president Paul Wolfowitz unveiled a $US900 million ($A1.23 billion) aid package in Jakarta on Tuesday as part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to strengthening governance and combating ongoing corruption issues in Indonesia – described as the “biggest threat to development” in the country.

“The World Bank Group's country strategy for Indonesia is in many ways leading the World Bank as a whole. It is one that particularly emphasises governance,” Wolfowitz said.
