$US2.6b of financing wrapped up for Papuan LNG project

BP’S Tangguh liquefied natural gas project in the Indonesian province of Papua appears set to begin first production in 2008 after $US2.6 billion ($A3.4 billion) of financing for the massive project was wrapped up yesterday.

Financiers for the BP-operated project reportedly include the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, a Chinese bank consortium and the Asian Development Bank, which issued a press release Tuesday
