WOODSIDE Petroleum chief executive officer Don Voelte has launched a scathing attack against the Australian government’s emissions trading scheme, saying that liquefied natural gas projects could lose between 15-30% of their after-tax net profits.

In a submission to the federal government, Woodside said that according to the LNG-specific modelling by ACIL Tasman, a carbon price of $20 per tonne would reduce after-tax cash flows for LNG projects
