"We are delighted to welcome Peter who has 30 years' knowledge and experience in the drilling industry," ADIA said.

Hall has worked for Boart Longyear since 1993 where he gained deep knowledge of the exploration sector from both the drilling services and product sales side of the business.

His last two roles were in the drilling services division as the after-market and fleet services manager and regional business development manager.

Hall has worked extensively through Australia and the Asia-Pacific region including Papua New Guinea, China, Indonesia, Mongolia, New Zealand and India.

He spent substantial time on drill rigs throughout his career, and met many ADIA members, "so he has an excellent understanding of the drilling industry" ADIA said.

Outgoing chief executive Nigel Carpenter has joined SkillsDMC as that company's CEO.
