THE Pasin Tumbuna Festival, Day of our Ancestors, takes place at the Port Moresby Nature Park in partnership with the PNG Tourism Promotion Authority on Sunday, August 19 from 9am to 3pm.

There will be traditional craft-making, traditional cooking, food tasting, traditional instrument making, bilas making, carving demonstrations, activities for children as well as food and drinks.

Organisers say the event will be a fascinating twist on the standard festival with the focus firmly on traditional skills and knowledge. 
 
This will be the third year that the Nature Park has put on the event with the support the tourism body.
 
The festival will also coincide with the third APEC Senior Officials Meeting and "provides a great opportunity to showcase PNG culture to the international guests".
 
"There will be lots of opportunities for the Port Moresby community to learn and interact with the craftsman and women," the organisers said.
