The National newspaper reports that SP Brewery commercial manager Moses Williams said the company was happy to partner with the committee that would be organising the festival.

"SP Brewery is pleased to extend through our brand the South Pacific Export Lager, to be associated with the National Mask Festival. The best of this country is the culture and the essence of the county is the strength of the people," Williams said.

Festival chairman Isaac Ilom said that this year the festival would take place from July 10 to 12 and would have more activities than previously with 189 groups performing.

"From the funds we have received, 40 to 50% will go to all the participating groups," Ilom said, adding that the number of tourists to East New Britain was increasing every year.
