The number is 1800100, which will be monitored at all times. The hotline is a result of the Law and Order Summit recommendations, an event which the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry helped to arrange.
The recommendations were passed on by the Consultative Implementation Monitoring Council (CIMC) to Planning Minister Richard Maru.
NCD chief superintendent Perou N'Dranou said the toll free number was important as it would be the go-to place to report incidents of crime, serve as whistle-blowing centre and where unethical police behaviour could be reported.
