"It really had a strong impact on me, that my country of birth decided that I deserve an award. So it meant a lot to me."
She will receive the award in April or May.
When asked what advice she would give to young people and how they can give back to their community, she said: "It is always important for young people to focus on solutions to the problems, rather than just complain about it."
She is currently training a youth leader in Pari to be a facilitator for a youth visioning workshop that she will be hosting this week with the hope that he will continue running the workshop in the future.
