The cases included two adults and a child from Western Province, a woman from the Eastern Highlands Province, two adults from East New Britain, one from National Capital District and an Australian fly-in, fly-out mine worker.
The deputy secretary of the National Health Department, Dr Paison Dakulala, announced this on Monday night.
The Post Courier newspaper reported that Dakulala said that while it was very encouraging news for Papua New Guinea, citizens should remain vigilant.
"We are still seeing countries in other parts of the world as well as in our region reporting new cases. It is a challenge for our schools in many ways as they adhere to the new ‘normal'," he said.
Most schools in PNG began formal classes on Monday.
