According to Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Centre, PNG now has 361 positive infections for Covid-19, with 163 active cases and 198 recoveries. The cases were in 11 of the country's 21 provinces, including Bougainville.

The Boroko man had a history of diabetes and hypertension and was ventilated and incubated, Daoni said.

He said Port Moresby was leading with the greatest number of cases and followed by the Western Province cluster around the Ok Tedi gold mine.

These were followed by Central, Morobe, East New Britain, West Sepik, Eastern Highlands, Southern Highlands, New Ireland, Milne Bay and Bougainville.
