Health workers are first in line for vaccinations

Staff Reporter

The 8000 vaccines were sent from Australia with the aim of vaccinating all frontline health workers.

Molumi will be the first person out of the 1600 staff at PMGH to receive the vaccine followed by other team leaders down the line in the hope that vaccinating senior staff, the hospital could give assurance and confidence others to do the same.

"The vaccine will protect them, and even if they get the disease, the severity of Covid-19 infecting them and killing them will be less. That will give them the confidence to continue to stand in the frontline and provide service for the health care of this country."

Molumi said it was not only about protecting hospital staff but to stand as an example to the rest of the country.

The hospital has carried out seminars to dispel some of the misleading information on social media platforms about AstraZeneca.
