The department says that to ensure that the proposed National Competition Policy reflects the needs of the business community, Treasury is interested to hear the views of private sector bodies in PNG.
The proposal for a National Competition Policy is a key recommendation from the Treasury-led Consumer and Competition Framework Review carried out during 2015-2016 with assistance from the Asian Development Bank's Pacific Private Sector Development Initiative (PSDI).
The 36-page consultation paper, which identifies matters that should be addressed by a national policy on competition and consumer protection, may be found at
www.CCFReview.info. The consultation paper also includes a draft of the proposed National Competition Policy.
