Oilers donate computers, lab to primary school

A PRIMARY School in Kiunga, Western Province, has a received a refurbished computer laboratory with 14 computers paid for by the partners in the Stanley gas project.

The project's partners are Repsol, Horizon Oil, Osaka Gas and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan. The Stanley gas project is 40km from Kiunga.
 
The National newspaper reported that Repsol's Kiunga-based community relations superintendent Petrus Malongim said that apart from the computers for Kiunga Montfort Primary School. In 2016 K1 million had been spent on community investment programs for health, agriculture, sports, financial literacy and other issues.
 
Malongim said Kiunga Montfort was fortunate to have a computer lab and urged the teachers and students to look after their lab and computers. He said it was the first junior school in the province to benefit from the programme to enable internet web learning.
