RH Hypermarket has Mobil service stations at Vision City and 8 Mile in Port Moresby.
The official opening was attended by members of Lae's business community and clan leaders from Butibum.
RH Trading executive director Nathaniel Ho said the opening of the service station was another important milestone and a first for the company in Markham Road, Morobe.
The National newspaper reported that the construction on the service station began in late January this year and was completed within six months at a cost of around K2 million.
"Our company is aiming to be the first cashless service station in the country. We started our fuel card system in Port Moresby and have more than 180 corporate clients. We will soon be introducing the fuel card system here in Lae as well," Ho said.
"This is only the start and we're planning to put out more investments in coming years as we are committed to serving the Lae and the country," he added.
