Kasou told the recent PNG 2022 Energy Summit and Exhibition that the company had witnessed landowner companies achieve milestones over the years through both Santos and the company it took over, Oil Search.
"We were proud to witness some incredible milestones such as the joint venture between Trans Wonderland Limited Group and Pentagon Freight Services — Pentrans," he said.
"The five-year contract enables Pentrans to deliver international freight forwarding, road transport and warehousing services to Santos.
"The company also renewed a three-year contract with another landowner company, PNG Mining and Petroleum Hospitality Services.
"The contract will allow it to continue providing Santos with catering and hospitality services including camp maintenance, and janitorial services.
"We also awarded a further contract to Gobe Freight Services covering a broad range of logistics services including road transport and port terminal operations, barge services, fuel haulage and shipping, minor industrial services, and container park management."
The National newspaper reported that he told delegates Santos also contributed more than K1.21 billion in corporate tax. In addition, Santos has paid a further K43.2 million in direct taxes as an operator; royalties of more than K20.6 million; and development levies of more than K10 million.
The community investment this year has been valued at more than K1.6 million, a further K1.1 million in education support for landowner scholarships and K300,000 for community development programmes.
