This was said by managing director Jean-Marc Noiray at the recent PNG Energy Summit held at the Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.
Total will be holding its first forum called the "project information forum" on October 7 at the Stanley Hotel from 8am to 3pm.
Total says the purpose is to introduce the Papua LNG project in detail and to describe the procurement and processes it uses and how local interested contractors can prequalify to be part of it.
Total says it is keen to work with the various peak bodies including the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the PNG Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the Manufacturing Council and the Business Council. It calls on all these organisations to alert members to this event.
"Only one representative per company will be allowed to attend the event at the Stanley Hotel as the room will be limited to 200 attendees. Others may join the event online," POMCCI said in its newsletter.
