Namatanai Member of Parliament Byron Chan has called on the PNG Government to honour its commitment to use 150 million kina ($US52.4 million) from the Lihir Mining Agreement in development projects on New Ireland.

Chan said just 50 million kina out of the 200 million kina promised 10 years ago has been paid out so far, and this had been released only in the past two years since he started pursuing the matter.
