Opposition protests PNG LNG parliamentary recall

THE OPPOSITION plans to boycott an early recall of Parliament that is designed to pass legislative amendments to better accommodate the legalities in the PNG government’s agreement on the $US11 billion PNG LNG project.

The contract was awarded by the PNG government in May and was the first government gas agreement involving liquefied natural gas.

Parliament is due to sit again on September 18.
