Hides landowners make shut down threat

TRADITIONAL landowners have threatened to shut down the Hides gas project in PNG's Southern Highlands province if the Department of Petroleum and Energy fails to pay them 7.5 million kina ($US2.6 million).

The Post-Courier newspaper quoted landowner spokesman Michael Tumbiago as saying the DPE had yet to pay them the money, which was the remaining amount of a K15.
