Landowners want more money from Kokoda

THE historic Kokoda Track in PNG could be closed, putting a huge dent in the country’s burgeoning tourism industry, if local landowners are not given a larger share of trekking fees generated by the track, according to an AAP report.

Landowners are reportedly demanding more government funding for the Kokoda Track Authority, which uses its revenue to provide services to local communities along the track.
