Prime Minister Peter O'Neill said the whistleblower protection legislation could stem the tide of corruption in the bureaucracy, according to The National.

Proposed freedom of information laws are also reportedly under review along with a separate measure to create a new government anti-corruption body.

These proposals were unveiled in parliament yesterday as part of the O'Neill-Namah coalition's anti-corruption strategy for 2010-30.
