IT took longer than expected, but has received the orders made by the Supreme Court on Monday which can be downloaded as a pdf document.

The orders address some of the constitutional issues which emerged since the December 12 Supreme Court decision that Sir Michael Somare was the rightful prime minister.

Order nine is notable. It states that the "bona fide" decisions and actions made by the "de facto" government of Peter O'Neill as PM and his ministers are valid and effective, but on the basis they were subject to constitution "generally".

Given that the Judicial Conduct Act did not take the months typically required to pass a constitution-altering law, it is not likely that this controversial reform would be classified as valid under order nine.

Chief Justice Sir Salamo Injia was controversially arrested under sedition charges yesterday.
