According to The National, the police unit's most recent scalp was Yurr Construction general manager Daniel Yaro, who was arrested for misappropriating 3.3 million kina ($A1.5 million) of government funds.
Taskforce leader Sam Koim reportedly said Yaro's charges related to hefty sitting allowances for a district planning and budget priority committee which was chaired by Potape.
Potape reportedly received K5,000 for each meeting which was way beyond the K25 per meeting allowed by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
Petromin employee Tracey Tiran, who is also a director of Sits-Up Services, was also reportedly arrested for personally using K500,000 of project funding from the National Planning Department.
Potape is in opposition as the shadow petroleum minister.
