According to The National, two mobile police squads, a special police taskforce and local police have started an operation to track down the criminals who razed the police traffic, community policing and criminal investigations building at Paiam police station.
Provincial police commander Martin Lakari reportedly said it was a direct attack on the police force and questioned whether other buildings in the district were safe.
"To prevent further similar cases, I am appealing to the law-abiding citizens in Paiam and Porgera to come forward and provide information to the police on the whereabouts of the suspects," he told the PNG newspaper yesterday.
