PNG fines illegal fishing vessels

THE operators of two fishing vessels have been fined more than $3 million kina for illegal activities following a maritime surveillance operation in Papua New Guinea.

Papua New Guinea Defence Force and the National Fisheries Authority combined stopped the vessels as a result of surveillance from August 3 to August 22 in Manus Province in the Bismarck Sea.
