His latest Facebook update, with his signature ‘JMPM', the headline reads: ‘Let us get rid of bribery in PNG'.

He expands on this message: "To the public, to companies, to anyone: I don't have staff, relatives, agents, cronies or middlemen running around asking for favours, cuts or bribes.

"If anyone uses my name out there, please report to any police station and let me know. We will soon be setting up a hotline.

"Likewise, my ministers should not have any middlemen running around cutting deals and asking for favours. Our departmental heads and all public servants, likewise, should not.

"I will ask both police and ombudsman to set special bribery -corruption public complaint [system to report] public and clients of state to point out those who try to bribe or ask for favours.

"We are all paid to do our jobs, no-one should ask for extra money or favours to do their jobs. Public and businesses, you can do your part by not buying favours and start reporting those who ask for bribes. I will personally be your friend."
