Hulahau is the current deputy chief migration officer in the compliance and enforcement division and has worked for PNGICA for six years in other capacities.
He has a Masters degree in public administration from National University of Seoul, Korea and Bachelor of Economics from UPNG.
Immigration Minister Westly Nukundi Nukundj said it was pleasing that NEC had finally appointed someone to fill in the position, which had been vacant for some years.
"I now look forward to work with the new CMO as he is a real national security practitioner and highly trained intelligence officer," Nukundj said.
