Governor General Peter Cosgrove met with founder Dr Barry Kirby and Sister Alice Kila at THOR hangar headquarters in Alotau to find out more about the organisation's work.

Dr Barry and Sr Kila, in turn, presented Cosgrove with a folding table with mother of pearl inlay from the Trobian Islands.

THOR has been working in PNG since 2011 and the THOR Foundation's focus is to achieve safe motherhood for women in PNG. In particular, their mission is to reduce maternal mortality throughout Milne Bay Province and the rest of PNG.
