DataCo chief executive officer Paul Komboi said the issues were isolated to the end devices or nodes in Port Moresby and Sydney, affecting internet traffic and private leased circuits using the Coral Sea Cable, The National newspaper reported.
"PNG DataCo engineers and our partners are doing everything they can to replace the identified equipment and to restore these services and have a permanent fix.
"Generally during this period as they work on the network, the internet services will be affected by intermittent dropouts," he said.
Meanwhile, Kina Bank chief executive officer Greg Pawson said all was fine with core banking services with little or no impact on its services or customers at this stage.
A Kina Bank public notice yesterday said: "Due to recent data issues that have been impacting PNG, we're currently experiencing outages which are affecting our digital banking services and resulting in some platforms being unavailable," Pawson said.
