PAPUA New Guinea has thanked New Zealand for contributing just more than $US11 million (K35 million) towards the cost of hosting this year's APEC summit.
Radio New Zealand reported that Tkatchenko said the aid would be allocated to security preparation, logistics and cybercrime policing.
New Zealand's High Commissioner Sue Mackwell said 12 New Zealand police had arrived in PNG to assist help in preparations for the November leaders' summit.
The $11 million was in addition to the aid which New Zealand gives PNG.
It was slightly more than the annual aid budget given to countries like Kiribati or Tonga, Radion New Zealand reported.
Australia is also contributing to the hosting of the summit.
