Metals all on the rise

BASE metals moved higher yesterday, while gold recovered from its Wednesday afternoon slump.

In London, zinc was the best performing metal, up by 1.2% to $2838.75 per tonne. While below its peak of $2935/t from February, the zinc price is still up by 11% so far in 2017.
 
Copper posted its third consecutive rise, adding another 0.6% to $5884/t.
 
Spot gold traded in a range of $1247.40-1254.80 an ounce over the past 24 hours, but futures were as high as $1256/oz yesterday morning.
 
The price of WTI crude oil was $50.35 per barrel, 1.7% up from the previous day. 
 
In softer commodities, cocoa increased $10 per tonne or 0.48% to $2096/t yesterday from $2086/t in the previous trading session, tradingeconomics.com reported. Historically, cocoa reached an all-time high of $4361.58/t in July of 1977 and a record low of $211/t in July of 1965.
 
Coffee increased 0.20c per pound or 0.14% to 139.50c/lb yesterday from 139.30c/lb in the previous trading session, tradingeconomics.com reported. Historically, coffee reached an all-time high of 339.86c/lb in April of 1977 and a record low of 42.50c/lb in October of 2001.
