Zinc is close to a 10-year high while copper jumped 1.9% to US$6663.25 per tonne, a 32-month high.
 
Nickel was up 0.7% to $11,689/t, the highest price in more than two years.
 
Gold prices were steady at $1291.5/oz ahead of a speech tonight by Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen.
 
According to ANZ Research, gold's 60-day volatility is at its lowest level since 2005.
 
WTI crude oil was up overnight to $47.72.
 
In soft commodities, cocoa increased 1.52% to $1937/t yesterday, tradingeconomics.com reported.
 
Coffee was also up yesterday, according to tradingeconomics.com, reaching 126.7c per pound after a 0.36% increase. Historically coffee reached an all-time high of 339.86c/lb in April 1977 and a record low of 42.50 in October of 2001.
