According to tradingeconomics.com, foreign exchange reserves in PNG averaged $2126.49 million from 2013 until 2017, reaching an all-time high of $3064 million in October of 2013 and a record low of $1620.80 million in July of 2016.
 
PNG's gold reserves remained unchanged at 1.96 tonnes in the fourth quarter of 2017 from 1.96t in the third quarter of 2017.
 
Overnight, the gold price was slightly down and fixed at $1332.22 per ounce.
 
The WTI crude oil price was slightly down overnight at $63.56 per barrel.
 
In softer commodities, cocoa decreased $1 per tonne or 0.05% to $1984/t yesterday from the $1985 in the previous trading session, tradingeconomics.com reported. Historically, cocoa reached an all-time high of $4361.58/t in July of 1977 and a record low of $211/t in July of 1965.
 
Coffee decreased 2.15c per pound or 1.75% to 120.95c/lb yesterday from 123.10c/lb in the previous trading session, tradingeconomics.com reported. Historically, coffee reached an all-time high of 339.86c/lb in April of 1977 and a record low of 42.50c/lb in October of 2001.
