Midwives will be supported through the Australia Awards Scholarship program in Papua New Guinea.

The partnership has awarded four scholarships to nurses from these two provinces.

The recipients will study midwifery at St Mary's School of Nursing in Kokopo, East New Britain Province and at the Pacific Adventist University in the National Capital District.

The recipients will graduate in early 2018 providing much needed additional birthing and maternal health support in these provinces.
