The two-week safety training was conducted by Patrick MacLoughlin, a health safety and environment  training specialist from the UK.
The line managers were from  Ramu NiCo's Kurumbukari mine and the Basamuk processing plant.
The company said the training was "to systematically improve the occupational safety and health management skills of line managers so as to how to have a better management of health and safety in the workplace on both sites".
"It introduced the participants to the principles of risk management and how to incorporate them into day-to-day decisions."
Ramu NiCo says it has the only mining project operating currently in Madang Province and it had been running safely for the last 10 years.
