The delisting became effective on August 31, ending an 18-year association with the ASX.

OceanaGold's CHESS depositary interests were suspended and ceased to trade on ASX on August 29.

The company cites the main reasons  for delisting as being ongoing low trading frequency, low volumes traded and limited index inclusion of CDIs traded on the ASX compared to that of the Toronto Stock Exchange.

"The company believes that the financial, administrative and compliance obligations and costs associated with maintaining the ASX listing are no longer in the best interests of its shareholders as a whole.

"The company will maintain its primary listing of its shares on the TSX and the trading of shares on the TSX will continue as normal," OceanaGold said.
