He replaces executive chairman Craig Ransley, who leaves the board on April 30.
 
Fear has had an extensive career in the finance sector, co-founding Argonaut Ltd in 2002 and he has built a distinguished track record in mergers and acquisition, advisory and capital markets transactions before retiring in 2019. 
 
During this time Argonaut advised on more than $4 billion worth of merger and acquisition deals, raised in excess of $38 billion in equity and arranged more than $1.5 billion in debt.
 
Before establishing Argonaut, Fear was the MD of investment banking with CIBC World Markets, a director of Hartley Poynton and senior insolvency partner with KPMG.
