KURDISH Iranian journalist, Behrouz Boochani has been welcomed in Christchurch, New Zealand, after leaving Papua New Guinea, ending his six year period of detention and settlement in in the country as part of Australia’s offshore processing regime in the Pacific.

Considers asylum as human rights group condemns conditions at Bomana

He was previously held on Manus Island alongside 1,300 other asylum seekers who attempted to reach Australia's Christmas Island by boat.
