Newcrest cuts Evolution stake

GOLD major Newcrest Mining has netted $A106 million from a partial sell-down of its stake in smaller producer Evolution Mining.

Newcrest sold a 17.4% stake in the company at 85c per share, reducing its stake from 32.3% to 14.9%.

The company has agreed to escrow its remaining holding of 106.
