SPIRALLING industry construction costs and the emergence of Queensland’s coal seam gas sector have been identified by one analyst as the two major factors behind the Australian Gas Light Company’s decision to scale down front-end engineering and design (FEED) activities for the PNG-Australia pipeline project.

Shaw Stockbroking’s John Colnan told PNGIndustryNews.net it now looked to be an increasingly “difficult” task for project participants to develop the planned $A4 billion pipeline.
