Horizon shifts from PNG power generation to liquids play

SYDNEY-based Horizon Oil is eyeing a liquids play for its PNG portfolio of gas and condensate discoveries as opposed to a previous plan with PNG Sustainable Energy (PNGSEL) to provide electricity for the giant copper Ok Tedi mine next year.

The shift in development strategy was prompted by the junior's recent talks with PNGSEL as well as the results of Perth-based Icon Engineering's Basis of Design (BOD) for development of the resources
