Talisman offer gets thumbs up from Rift shareholders

RIFT Oil shareholders have voted in favour of a takeover offer from Talisman Energy that will give the Canadian company the Puk Puk and Douglas gas discoveries in Papua New Guinea.

Shareholders holding 61.8% of Rift's issued shares have approved the scheme of arrangement under which Talisman will acquire all of Rift's shares at 13 pence each (A26.4c).
