AGL's PNG assets could sell for almost $A1 billion

THE combined value of AGL Energy’s oil and gas fields in Papua New Guinea and its 3.6% stake in the PNG LNG project is close to $A1 billion (K2.51 billion), according to analyst estimates as the Australian electricity and gas supplier makes plans to exit the joint venture.

AGL has previously said it intends to sell its stake, which is subject to pre-emptive rights by other JV parties, by December.
