The 1528 square kilometre licence covers Goodenough, Fergusson and Sanaroa Islands, and lies within the so-called Misima Gold Corridor.

The company aims to discover high grade, high tonnage Misima type and epithermal gold deposits in the tenement as a reconnaissance bulldozer trenching program is scheduled to begin in the next six months.

Other projects in Quintessential's portfolio include the Bismark licence in PNG's highlands and a pending application to explore volcanics near the country's island of New Britain.

Quintessential managing director Paige McNeil said the company was committed to exploring in PNG and granting of the new licence in Milne Bay demonstrates the government's faith in the Perth-based explorer.
