PAPUA New Guinea-focused oil and gas producer Oil Search has posted the highest half-year profit in its 86-year history off the back of production being up almost 50%, despite delivering into materially weaker oil and gas markets.
The company's net profit after tax for the first six months of the year was $US227.5 million ($316 million), with revenue up 69% to $863.
