Nickel night

NICKEL rose more than 1.3% last night, closing on the London Metals Exchange at $US10,345 per tonne.

That is still about $500 per tonne below where it finished in August but a similar amount above where it started September.

Elsewhere tin was just about unchanged with Bloomberg reporting exports from Indonesia soaring 62% in August over the month prior.

Traders took advantage of the rising commodity price.

However, exports from the major tin producing country were still 16% below what was exported in the first eight months of 2015.

Zinc lagged behind last night, falling about 0.4%.
