The campaign is an initiative of the Sustainable Coastlines PNG in partnership with the National Capital District Commission which began this week and continues until November 13.
"This campaign aims to educate and empower Port Moresby residents to improve their waste disposal behaviour and take part in positive action to address the issue," BSP said.
Ryley Webster CEO for Sustainable Coastline PNG said that the month-long schedule of awareness and clean-up activities was aimed at improving understanding of the impacts of non-biodegradable waste and providing tangible solutions.
BSP's Rosemary Mawe said the bank was keen to set the pace, gearing up for the annual Go Green Clean-up day later in November.
"The day is where like-minded people who want a litter free, clean, green and healthy environment can step forward and join the clean-up, while at the same time spreading the message of responsibility to change mindsets," Mawe said.
